In 2019, after two decades of leading high-performing marketing and communications teams in globally recognized brands, our founders encountered a persistent challenge: agencies, freelancers, and vendors often relied on cookie-cutter templates and one-size-fits-all strategies that failed to capture the unique essence of each business.

 

We knew there was a better way - and Mesa West Marketing Partners was born in Costa Mesa, California.

 

Today, we’re headquartered in Orange County, California, with team members spanning both coasts of the United States, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to every project.

Meet Scott

Scott Cobett founded Mesa West Marketing Partners in 2019 because he was tired of watching brands get sold cookie-cutter marketing that didn't actually move the needle. With 20+ years leading marketing, communications, and brand strategy for some of the biggest names in the game, he knew there was a better way.

Scott currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Strategic Artificial Intelligence Program at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where he helps bridge the gap between academic AI research and real-world business application. His focus is making sure what's being taught actually translates to growth strategies companies can use today.

Before Mesa West, Scott served as CMO at Wheel Pros, one of the largest aftermarket automotive distributors in the world. He led everything from go-to-market strategy and brand development to product launches, athlete partnerships, events, and integrated marketing.

 

In 2019, SEMA Magazine named him one of the 35 most influential leaders in the automotive industry under 35.

Before that, he ran global communications at Oakley. He led internal brand development, strategic campaigns, and comms for one of the most iconic brands on the planet. That included managing high-profile events, working with outlets like 60 Minutes, and guiding communications through some complex, high-visibility moments. He also helped redefine Oakley's core values to better align brand purpose with culture.

Scott built Mesa West to be the anti-template agency. Today, the firm specializes in AI-first search strategy, Answer Engine Optimization, Generative Engine Optimization, and performance marketing. They help brands show up where it matters most, whether that's traditional search or AI-driven platforms like ChatGPT, Google AI, and Perplexity.
